Microsoft launches coronavirus tracker

As corona-virus is spreading so fast like a fire across countries, Microsoft's Bing team has launched a web portal to track its progress worldwide. The website provides up-to-date infection statistics for each country. An interactive map allows users to click on the country to see the specific number of cases and related articles from a variety of publishers. According to sources, data is being aggregated from sources like the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

Microsoft announced the website two days after US President Donald Trump said Google had begun working on COVID-19-related portal for US citizens. Google's website is being built by Verily, a subsidiary of Alphabet focused on healthcare services. More than 1,700 engineers are currently working on the site,Trump said during a press briefing last week.

Tata Motors provides work from home to 3000 employees due to corona-virus outbreak

Tata Motors, India's largest automobile company on Sunday asked their 3000 employees to take work from home and to stay safe as the cases of corona-virus reaches to 175696 and 6715 deaths in total and can even increase. Employees are asked work from home from Monday onward.

International travels has been suspended and domestic travels that involve public travel that is subject to the approval of respective executive committee member.

Bio-metric attendance has been replaced with the card swiping. There is an adequate supply of hand sanitizes liquid soap and surgical masks arranged across sites. Training and meetings beyond 20 people have been suspended, visitors at Tata Motor sites have been restricted.

The employees of office-based roles including company HQ, sales and marketing HQ and enabling functions in regional office and purchase team based in Pune will work from home effective 16th March 2020. The employees of manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering and research center and warehouses across the country will continue to operate with strict adherence to measures mentioned. The employees in sales, service, supplier quality, product line should connect with outside virtually. The employees of these functions may not be needed to come to the office daily, said the statement

World Health Organization declared coronavirus as pervasive

Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyeus said on Tuesday that COVID-19 is a deadly widespread disease that has no cure and is declared as a pandemic. They are deeply concerned about alarming all the levels of spread and severity of the infection by the coronavirus.

Till now there are more than 118,000 cases in 114 different countries and 4230 people have died, and the number can increase. The WHO has declared this as a pervasive. WHO officially has signaled for weeks that they may use "pandemic" as a descriptive term but stressed that it does not carry legal significance. The novel coronavirus is not the flu.

On comparison swine flue with coronavirus, it turned out that swine flu was mild outbreak and vaccines were created within 2-3 months, unlike coronavirus.

Google removes one of the most popular Android Smartphone app

Google play store's one of the most used app "Antutu"- Is no longer available for smartphone brands like Xiaomi and Realme. As per the reports, Google has removed the Antutu app as a part of the larger crackdown on apps from Cheetah Mobile.

The report also says that there was no sign or new about this app, as till 22 February this app was visible on the play store but now ut is just disappeared from the google play store. And there is news either from, Google or China's Cheetah mobile.

Also, there was news over 600 apps form the Google play store in past had removed or banned several apps from their store and the Mazor apps were from China, India, Singapore, and many more countries but there was some or the other news about all those apps but there is no news about the disappearance of Antutu.

The report adds that Antutu has taken note of the removal of the apps from the Play Store as the company has replaced the download links from the website to the Apk's links.

Demand for remote-work "Corona-virus"

Coronavirus "COVID-19" is spreading around the globe and for the safety purpose employees of every company is asking for work from home but the companies are facing trouble to provide all the tools used in their offices by them at their homes and also facing many communications issues when they are far apart.

Ampere launches new chip built from ground up for cloud workloads

Ampere, the chip startup run by former Intel President Renee James, announced a new chip today that she says is designed specifically to optimize for cloud workloads. The company sees this chip as a kind of workhorse for the cloud. “We’ve really looked at this as we’re designing a general purpose CPU that is built for the cloud environment, so you can utilize that compute the way the cloud utilizes that type of compute. So it supports the vast array of all of the workloads that run in the cloud,” he said.

“Let’s go do what we can to build the platform that delivers the raw power and performance, the kind of environment that you’re looking for, and then have a design approach that enables them to work with us on what’s important and the kind of control, that kind of feature set that’s unique because each one of them have their own software environment,” James explained.

James says one of the unforeseen challenges of delivering this chip is possible disruptions in the supply chain due to the Corona-19 virus and its impact in Asia where many of the parts come from, and the chips are assembled. She says the company has taken that into consideration and has been able to build up a worldwide supply chain she hopes will help with hiccups that might occur because of supply chain slow downs.
