Xiaomi has announced to bring NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) this is a geo-positioning system designed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to provide accurate positioning in India and 1500 km around the Indian mainland.
NavIC comprises seven satellites, four of which are in geostationary orbit over the Indian Ocean and four in geosynchronous orbit and are capable of providing location positioning accuracy better than 20 meters.
Also, ISRO Chairman Dr. K Sivan, said NavIC is a very critical step forward in the pursuit of space technology for national development and ISRO is eager to make it accessible to everyone for everyday use and they would look forward to extending the benefits of this updates solution to millions of Indians through. He also appreciated Qualcomm Technologies for enabling NavIC support on its mobile chipset platforms.
As both Xiaomi and ISRO decided to work together after the R&D Effort from Xiaomi now, the new phones that would be launched now in 2020 will be having this new technology update.
