On Tuesday Hotstar announced a new marketing scheme (Entertainment at its peak) that includes a selection of content, including movies, t.v shows, news, etc. Well, this campaign was to attract a maximum of the audience in Hindi speaking markets said Varun Narang, Cheif Product Officer, Hotstar. According to the companies statement, there are many users those reuse and replay old content that is being displayed on Hotstar front page and this is to be changed as the new page would have new displays of new movies, t.v shows, etc.
Hotstar would aim for the accessibility gap for viewers. To avail of the free content, a user needs to register or log-in to the app. Instead, download the Hotstar app on a supported device or access the Hostar website and stream the select free video content directly.
The free content is available in full-length but will stream only in standard definition. To stream in high definition, the user needs to register and purchase a Hotstar subscription.
